I ❤️ MY B😽D📚GA is Brooklyn Book Bodega’s monthly literacy program for caregivers and their children. From engaging puppet shows to story read alouds, each session is designed to help caregivers and parents develop and practice literacy habits with their children. Participants will: 

  • receive free children’s books to keep, plus additional giveaways

  • learn parenting and literacy tips from expert early childhood educators

  • build community with other families exploring reading and early literacy

Eligibility:

  • Have at least one child from newborn to age five. Older siblings are invited to attend.  

  • Come ready to learn and participate alongside your children! 

Details:

Sessions take place one day every month at the Brooklyn Book Bodega Book Hub at 141 Flushing Avenue, Suite 606, Brooklyn, NY 11205. You may sign up for and attend one or as many sessions as you’d like.

  • Thursday, July 30 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Thursday, August 27 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Monday, September 21 (school holiday) from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, October 24 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Wednesday, November 18 from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, December 12 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Each registration link can be found on our events page and is posted about a month ahead of each workshop. Preregistration is required.

Once registered, you will receive detailed directions, instructions to access Brooklyn Book Bodega’s Book Hub, passes to enter Building 77 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for each individual registered, and a parking pass, if requested.

All directions and passes will be provided by email 24 hours prior to the program date.
