Join us for a Virtual Road Trip

Pack your bags, grab a snack, and buckle up! We are your travel agents as you begin a virtual road trip to kid-friendly destinations across the globe. We are off and away!!

Criss-Cross the United States

  • First stop is just across the bridge in Manhattan at the Museum of Modern Art where you will listen to activist, author, and artist Faith Ringgold read her book Tar Beach and then create your own art based on her book. Next, pop over to the American Museum of Natural History. After you talk to a scientist and learn about climate change, head over to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Walk through the giant heart and try out some games in the Brain Exhibit. Then, you are off to Columbus, Ohio for a DIY postcard activity at the Columbus Museum of Art—make sure to send a postcard to someone you love and tell them all about your trip!

  • From here, head to the Windy City to the Chicago Children’s Museum for a whole host of fun activities for the little ones in your life. You must be tired from all of your travels, so settle in and take a nap on your way to Colorado where you will go to the Denver Zoo to check out their zoo webcams in action—see if you can catch the two-toed sloth moving! From the zoo, travel to Bryce Canyon in Utah for some fresh air and to see the hoodoos up close. Your last stop before you relax on the beach and take a swim in the Pacific Ocean is in San Francisco, the home of the California Academy of Sciences. There you can check out the reef via the webcam and learn about California’s coastal diversity. We hope you enjoyed your trip!

Fly Off to Other Continents

  • Time to repack your suitcase! We are off to Western Asia. Our first stop is The Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar. At the museum check out masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, textiles, and glass, collected from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century. Then, speed off to Egypt to tour a pharaoh’s tomb—known as KV9 (first discovered in 1898), you can virtually tour pharaoh’s Ramses VI tomb from anywhere. Here is a description of the tour.

  • Next, jet to Angkor Wat in Cambodia to experience a 3D simulation brought to life by historians, archaeologists, and virtual history specialists. You will see Angkor’s place in larger networks of trade and diplomacy, its experience with climate variability, and the structure of power and kingship that underpinned the city. Then, pop over to England to visit the London Zoo for webcams and live streams, animal antics, zookeeper videos, and behind-the-scenes updates.

  • Choose your final adventure, a feast for the eyes, by exploring Street Art and its stories from around the world. You can go anywhere!
